Engineering, private AI and regulatory filings.
Design engineering is taking work today. Private AI for small and medium organizations is in beta, and regulatory filings are an ongoing project.

From requirements to a package a manufacturer can quote.
We take a product through the whole design engineering process and hand over a package a supplier can price without guessing.
The process is AI-assisted: we have built an AI module for each step. It is the same process we use on our own devices.
Five steps, and the package at the end is the point.
Requirements and concept
What it has to do, what already exists, and whether it is worth building at all. Many ideas stop here, on purpose.
RF engineering
Link budgets, propagation, frequency planning and FCC licensing, for products that have to get a signal out.
Mechanical design
3D models, material selection, fits and tolerance stack-ups, with the calculations and simulation behind them.
Prototypes and test plans
Printed parts and physical fit checks before any tolerance is set, and thermal, signal and commissioning test plans written before the hardware exists.
Production package
Drawings with tolerances and finish callouts, a parts list, manufacturability notes, a bill of materials and a request-for-quote set a supplier can price without guessing.
Private AI that stays private.
Katachi builds private AI systems for small and medium organizations. The models run on hardware in your own building, with no connection to outside AI services, or on hardware Katachi hosts for you. Either way, your records are not sent to public AI services or used to train anyone else’s model.
We build assistants for specific jobs.
Email administrator
Reads an organization’s inbox, sorts each message by topic and urgency, drafts replies in the organization’s own voice, and keeps a running list of what still needs an answer.
Engineering assistant
Works from a team’s own standards and past drawings to draft specifications, check new drawings against those standards, and prepare quote packages for suppliers.
Records assistant
Answers questions from the organization’s own documents, such as policies, contracts and meeting minutes, and points to the page each answer came from.
Certification assistant
Works from the FCC and FAA rules to answer compliance questions, and cites the rule each answer rests on.
Project-management module
Answers questions from a project’s own plans, schedules and decisions, such as what is due and what was agreed, and points to the document each answer came from.
FCC license database
Pulls the FCC’s public license records every week and tracks every change. It is designed so a user can search licenses and filings, build reports, and map licensed sites with their details.
Production drawings from AI models.
The drawing step is the one we are still developing. We are testing combinations of local models, run on Apple Silicon, to find which produce accurate production drawings a manufacturer can quote from.
Models tested so far, generation by generation: Llama 3.1 through Llama 4 Scout, Gemma 4, Qwen3.6, gpt-oss-120b, Qwen3-Coder-Next and Qwen3.8.
For organizations that want to keep their own records.
Professional offices, construction and engineering firms, churches and community organizations: teams that want to use AI and keep their records in their own hands.
FCC license filings, prepared and coordinated.
Applications, renewals and modifications for business radio and microwave licenses, prepared for the licensee to review and approve before filing, with frequency coordination arranged as part of each filing.
This is an ongoing project, and we are not taking new filing requests for now. A self-serve version is in development, designed so a licensee enters a short set of facts and the filing is prepared for them at a low price.
